Low Voltage/Communication Technician

Job Summary:

Our innovative and growing Data/Communications Department is searching for an experienced field technician to join our team. The technician will be working in new construction and attending occasional service calls. During the new construction projects, the technician will pull CAT6, fiber, and other cable types, build out IT enclosures and racks, and terminate, test, and label cabling. During service calls, the technician will work closely with customers to locate and troubleshoot network infrastructure malfunctions, security camera devices, door access, A&V equipment, and other similar devices. The technician will observe all safety regulations with required PPE and follow company policies.

Qualifications:

1. One (1) year minimum of verifiable low-voltage, communications and/or network experience is required.
2. High School diploma or equivalent.
3. Must have a Valid California Driver’s License with reliable transportation to and from work.
4. Candidates must pass pre-employment background, drug, and work screens.
5. Must be available to work 8 to 12-hour days, occasional weekends, callouts, and overtime.
6. Must have basic hand & power tools related to the trade.
7. Candidate must have a strong work ethic and must be professional, punctual, and motivated to complete projects as efficiently as possible.

Essential Functions

1. Ability to assemble, install, test, and maintain low-voltage electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
2. Install and maintain electronic equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels.
3. Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
4. Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
5. Must safely utilize a forklift, bucket truck, platform lift, and aerial boom lift.
6. Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
7. Proficient in testing copper, fiber optic, and wireless networks, security cameras, and door access systems, including wiring, equipment, and communication devices using various testing equipment.
8. Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
9. Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast-paced.
10. The technician must be a self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Pay and Subsequent raises are based on value demonstrated during the probationary period, and value added to the company during the employment.
