Job Summary:
We are seeking a carded and experienced Industrial & Commercial Electrician who can assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools. The electrician will be working in new construction and, on occasion, will diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. The electrician connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. The technician observes all safety regulations with required PPE and follows company policies.
Qualifications:
1. Completion of an approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years of electrical experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, abilities, and certification have been achieved.
2. High School diploma or equivalent.
3. Must have a Valid California Driver’s License with reliable transportation to and from work.
4. Candidates must pass pre-employment background, drug, and work screens.
5. Must be available to work 8 to 12-hour days, occasional weekends, callouts, and overtime.
6. Must have basic hand & power tools related to the trade.
7. Candidate must have a strong work ethic and must be professional, punctual, appropriately certified, and motivated to complete projects as efficiently as possible.
Essential Functions
1. Ability to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
2. Install and maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels.
3. Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
4. Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
5. Must demonstrate the ability to utilize a forklift, bucket truck, platform lift, and aerial boom lifts safely.
6. Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
7. Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure the compatibility and safety of electrical systems.
8. Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
9. Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast-paced.
10. The electrician should have self-starter qualities yet be able to take orders as directed.
11. Other duties as assigned.
